We recommend advance booking and you can buy online paying by credit or debit card up to the time a play starts .

If seats (or cancellations) are available then you can buy play tickets at the door (but without any discounts).
Please note that because of catering practicalities this may not be possible for events with food, such as the February Frolics or Christmas Cabaret – or menu options may be limited.

The quickest way to contact the CDS box office is  by email at [email protected]

The CDS Box Office also handles any queries or requests for ticket exchanges or refund requests.

If you make a telephone or other booking to be paid for later then payment can be made later (in person) by cash,  cheque or now by card (including contactless). You can now also  send us money by BACS transfer.

Please note that as we no longer usually take phone bookings via this number and  that a £1.75 adminstration charge (per order) may be applied to Box Office sales (although this is waived for group bookings).

Group Bookings & Reservations

For larger bookings you can contact the Box Office by email or by phone (leave a message on 01444 848156) and request a block booking.

A provisional booking can be made for you and the price and a reservation code will be supplied (Six letters or numbers).

To pay for your reservation you can send us a bank transfer (BACS payment) – quoting the booking reservation code as the reference.

Or if you want to pay by cheque please write the reservation code on the back of the cheque. The Box Office will advise you where to send or drop off the cheque.

When we have received your payment we will we update the sales records an email will be sent by TicketSource with a link to your tickets.

Keep Up With CDS Announcements

There are several ways to stay in touch with CDS if you want to be alerted when tickets go on sale or get close to selling out!


  • Details of any public or membership discounts will be listed here!
      • The first night for plays is usually discounted – for Comedies of Class this is £8
      • If you book early (by end of Wed Oct 2nd) you will save £1 per ticket!
      • Alternatively if you book eight or more tickets at once you will receive a group discount of 20%

      • Join our general mailing list  or our audience email alerts to make sure you hear about sales and discounts in plenty of time!  And you can follow us on Twitter or Facebook!
          (Please note – discounts are not usually available at the door. But you can book online paying by card and print an e-ticket, until an hour before the show!)

    Seating Plans

    Comedies of Class returns to our usual seating plan for plays at the Queen’s Hall in Cuckfield is below. Click on the image to expand or here for a PDF version.

    We have found this tried and trusted layout provides the best compromise between the hall capacity and all then audience having a good view and the ability to hear all the actors.

    Our usual Xmas Cabaret seating differs, not least because food is usuaully served and the entertainment is of a different format.
