Two neighbouring companies featuring CDS members or past guest performers have been nominated in the SE NODA region as Best New Play (The Maurice Spillett Trophy )in 2015.
Rebecca Bond (who made her directorial début with CDS in 2014’s Feb Frols) wrote and directed this 1950’s set play which featured Kirsty Bishopp, Samantha Oliver, and CDS newcomer Lorraine Jordan – all recently seen in Cuckfield in the wonderful Pardon Me, Prime Minister.
Plus several CDS members went to Horsham in summer 2015 to see Lights and Bushels’s very first production which was an adaptation of Jane Austen’s first attempt at a novel. Lady Susan featured Tom Hounsham who was a superb Algernon in our spring 2015 presentation of “The Importance of Being Earnest“.
Those who saw both shows enjoyed each of them and each deserves high praise.
Fortunately CDS is not involved in any judging!
Will be Tues 7th & Thu 9th of June at The White Harte meeting room at 8pm.
Please note that the audition the following week on Monday 13th has been CANCELLED. Please email if you had planned to attend that day

Players in the Park draws on a wide range of people from local drama groups in the Mid Sussex area to work together to put on a quality open air theatre experience for the people of Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and beyond.
Their fourth summer production at Cockhaise Farm, Lindfield, RH16 2QP is set to provide just as much fun and entertainment for all the family. Much Ado About Nothing is a rumbustious and witty comedy romp full of humour intrigue and high drama.
And while it’s an Open Air show all seats will be inside the barn, so even if the weather is unkind the audience will not get wet!
