Plus there are a few subscribers I don’t know!
Most groups are helpful and what it good for one local community theatre is good for us all!
The way the group works is as an information channel – perhaps to a keen individual or committee member or maybe an official address ([email protected]).
It’s up to them to decide whether and how to pass on any info. For example to web-post, email on or add a note to their newsletter etc. After all no one wants to spam their local members but passing on show or audition news, or requests and offers for help (or just advice!) helps get the message out!
But as well as seeing what neighbouring groups are up to helping to mix up casts avoids that problems of plays starting to feature the same old faces!
(And if the information is from say too far away – such as Horsham audition info for a group based in Lewes then maybe they will ignore it)
Acting in a group more than say 10 or 15 miles away from home is of course a big commitment, but loan of costumes, props or even a stage manager can be a huge help!
Sharing advice on emails, membership, ticketing or even skills on training and development are all things where even 20 miles is not that far away.
