Christmas Cabaret 2017

After the 2015 Kuckoo Klub with a pre-war theme and last year’s Festive Fifties it’s no surprise that this year’s show will be based on the Swinging Sixties!

Our evening is themed around and inspired by the suave and debonair James Bond (Connery edition of course) as well as the affectionate spoof and swinging secret agent Austin Powers as made famous by Mike Myers’ set of films  join us for a romp through the sixties and its music.

So whether you preferred Casino Royale with David Niven and Woody Allen as opposed to Daniel Craig,   or felt that James Bond was better spoofed in Our Man Flint or by Dean Martin’s boozy super-spy Matt Helm you can be sure the comedy will every bit as sophisticated as that in Carry On Spying. …

The evening starts with a luxury sixties themed meal  at 8pm (doors and bar open from 7:30pm!) before the entertainment begins at 9pm with a set of acts including singing, dancing, and little comedy and magic too!

There will be a short interval between the two halves, of the show before the audience will be invited to dance the remainder of the night away to some of the classic tunes of the decade which we we weren’t able to fit into the show!

The cast (which includes some old faces as well as new ones) are now rehearsing and the show has some great music from the fab sounds that the decade produced!

While we have increased the price this year we have kept the familiar features of previous years – a bar with a speciality cocktail, themed decorations for the Queen’s Hall, and that special CDS  Cuckoo Production experience!

This year’s luxury meal will comprise some Sixties Specialities

  • Main Course: Slow cooked Beef Bourguignon with vegetables, shallots and red wine, served with individual warmed demi baguettes and butter, t
    • (Or a delicious Quorn casserole vegetarian alternative – must be BOOKED IN ADVANCE!)
  • Pudding: Pineapple Upside down cake with fresh pouring cream,
  • Followed by a selection of cheddar, brie and stilton, with assorted savoury biscuits, grapes and relish!

Our chef will endeavour to accommodate any any other dietary requirements given at the time of booking your tickets or with sufficient notice.
