After last year’s sell out show we have expanded the Frolics to two nights, with canapés on the Friday* and a meal on the Saturday. Tickets including the food are £12 for Friday and £15 for Saturday. The February Frolics are an annual show designed to make us feel good in the depths of winter, and to showcase new talents within the group. As ever we bring a mixture of old and faces new to CDS, some fresh to the stage and others returning.
Bridge Too Far by Paul Ruse and Richard Willis
A selection of comic turns, both original and inspired by modern and past greats. Clubs represented (or mercilessly ridiculed) will include the Brownies, Addicts Anonymous, A Chess Club and a very Inappropriate Book Club. In addition as a possible origin of modern “extreme sports” we have an investigation into an ancient rural game of extraordinary challenge… As a special nod to the success of Rebecca Bond’s short play of last year “Agony and the Avuncular” we will also present a short reprise. This time the characters of an Edwardian newspaper advice column argue as they prepare a special matrimonial issue…
